For me, mixing up bright fresh colours and prints is what Spring colours and trends is all about.

What has surprised me this year is to see the rich, warm shades of rust and green – which traditionally give an Autumn feel.

Some stores have concentrated on a pretty summer blue but the colour that seems to dominate throughout most stores is egg-yoke yellow .

Pretty floral playsuits are still trending this Spring, and the 70’s crochet trend has made a comeback. You’ll see crochet bags, tops, pants suits and dresses, swimwear and accessories.

Moving up through the decades, some of the favourites from the 80’s have come back this season.  Keep an eye out for the puffy sleeves and also sheer tops, teamed up with jeans for a night out.

Personally, I love the look of tailored shorts teamed up with a blazer, It’s a style I wore when I was much younger, during the eighties.

Shirt style dresses seem to be a staple in most wardrobes, as they are easy to style teamed with a pair of sneakers, ankle boots or a pair of wedges. If you’re short like me, look for one that come up at the sides, as you will appear taller when wearing sneakers or flats.

Depending on your body shape choose between a narrow belt or a soft tie belt, to define your waist so you don’t look boxy.

Heavy jackets are now packed away and vests are being used to give you a bit of coverage.

I’ve seen denim , plaid and utility style, oversized vests but my favourite is the long lined, tailored vest, which can be used to layer with a fitted dress, jeans, pants or shorts.

There seems to be something for everyone this season, from the sixties tie dye to the classic black and white polka dots.

If you’re feeling brave and want to try for a bit of a bang, add a pop of neon!
