What’s In Fashion For Winter 2018?

by Antoinette Stonham

Sometimes when it is colder we can get a bit lazy when putting our outfits together – we go for the biggest and cosiest garment we can find!

This season it’s all about colour, so it’s time to ditch the dull and dreary. Why not try bold red, forest green, deep purple or teal, and if you suit the warm colour pallet you’re in luck, with khaki and mustard still trending.

Blush is a great base colour instead of white or cream but just be careful on which blush tone you choose. I look so much better in blush pinks myself.

There so many different patterns, prints and textures to choose from as well.

Lace, faux fur, leather and vinyl are dominating fabrics while Polka dots, plaids, bold prints or tartans can be injected into your existing wardrobe to update your look.

If you’re a lover of denim then this seasons is perfect for you. You can choose from high-waisted jeans, fitted denim dresses, bib and brace wide legged pants and A-line ankle length denim skirts.

For me, Winter is all about the boots. I usually treat myself to a pair each year and I’m always looking for something different. This season it was a pair of white ankle boots. If white isn’t for you there are a few stand out styles – you can choose from classic black, tan, red patent, florals or metallic and then sock boots, knee highs or an ankle boot.  Choose a pair that works with your wardrobe, lifestyle and personality.

If you’re looking for a new bag, the shapes for the season are saddle, bucket, cross body and belt bags. Heavy chains, embellishment, fur and animal prints are the textures to look for.

If you are a collector of fashion jewellery, statement earrings are the way to go.

Remember ladies shop from your wardrobe first, make a list to fill the gaps – then hit the shops.
