What's Trending In Personal Styling Autumn 2021

by Antoinette Stonham

Yellow and grey are the official pantone colours for 2021.

I’d like to share what’s trending in Autumn 2021 because I’ve been out and about, checking what is in for this season and there is plenty to talk about.

I’ve seen a few different colour palettes this season, with a lovely soft grey and camel, dusty pink and dusty blue but brown seems to be the dominant colour. Neutral dressing will be dominating this season, so for something interesting try camel and mustard and mix with those soft blues.

When the time comes to make a statement at a  special event, why not go for a vibrant red or a bold blue, with the flared sleeves or single shoulder looks coming in.

Leather skirts are also around in a variety of styles this season. Whether it is a pencil, short A-lined, calf length or pleated skirt, if you make the right choice for YOU, it can be a timeless investment in your wardrobe.

And there are a whole range of other feature fashions in the stores at present –

  • Full length leather coats.
  • Big puffy sleeves.
  • Coloured and sparkly shoes.
  • Faux fur
  • or if you prefer, the puffer jacket.

80s inspired oversized jackets with oversized shoulder pads are coming back in so team them up with skinny legged jeans or leather pants for a modern take.  If you like something different you may want to integrate into your wardrobe a detailed tapestry coat, teamed with a plain coloured knit dress or black pants and top.

Knee high, ankle and chunky lace up boots are popular for autumn/winter but I have noticed that white knee high boots are the choice of the season.  White sneakers have become a wardrobe staple, so why not make a statement with a bit of sparkle or bling added to them

Chunky knits teamed up with tailored shorts or a short skirt, heavy tights and boots looks great and will keep you cosy as it cools down.

The turtleneck has made a comeback, both for casual and smart. My choice is a turtleneck knit dress teamed with boots, a long chunky necklace and a coat.

When it comes to accessories fringed bags, head scarves, big bold earrings, long chunky necklaces and large 60s style coloured frame sunglasses are all the rage.

This is just a guide to what has caught my eye when I was out and about but remember ladies, shop from your wardrobe first.
